International solutions provider, Logicalis UK, has been awarded a six figure contract to design and implement a global IBM Cognos Business Analytics solution to DEK International, a provider of equipment and processes used in the manufacture of devices such as smart phone and tablet circuit boards. The solution will be integrated with DEK's Oracle ERP, finance, and workflow processes in order to improve communication, collaboration, and informed decision making in its manufacturing facilities, sales, and support operations worldwide. Implementation will be completed by autumn 2012.
Incorporating IBM Cognos products TM1, BI and Controller, DEK will benefit from consolidated and real-time dashboard reporting, ‘what if' forecasting, and process performance indicators, enabling 100 global ‘super users' to execute decisions that will realise efficiencies in existing processes, improve customer relations and proactively address issues and opportunities.

DEK assessed competing solutions from SAP, Microsoft and Oracle during the tender. The IBM Business Analytics proposition won for its user-friendly but granular dashboard reporting mechanism and ability to consolidate and integrate with existing processes. As well as assisting with the solution's integration, Logicalis will provide training and consultancy throughout the deployment.
