International solutions provider, Logicalis UK, has been awarded a six figure contract to design and implement a global IBM Cognos Business Analytics solution to DEK International, a provider of equipment and processes used in the manufacture of devices such as smart phone and tablet circuit boards. The solution will be integrated with DEK's Oracle ERP, finance, and workflow processes in order to improve communication, collaboration, and informed decision making in its manufacturing facilities, sales, and support operations worldwide. Implementation will be completed by autumn 2012.

Incorporating IBM Cognos products TM1, BI and Controller, DEK will benefit from consolidated and real-time dashboard reporting, ‘what if' forecasting, and process performance indicators, enabling 100 global ‘super users' to execute decisions that will realise efficiencies in existing processes, improve customer relations and proactively address issues and opportunities.

Ian Bleazard, Chief Information Officer at DEK International comments,

"Our intention is to convert data into valuable knowledge, to give employees useful information that makes a difference to how they work." He continues, "The simple synchronisation of customer data, for instance, can ensure client account teams have informed conversations - are proactive not reactive to issues. The consolidation of financial processes into real-time reporting ensures buyers are paid and the supply chain is not delayed, whilst forecasting tools will provide valuable insight to potential vulnerabilities affecting our manufacturing output."

DEK assessed competing solutions from SAP, Microsoft and Oracle during the tender. The IBM Business Analytics proposition won for its user-friendly but granular dashboard reporting mechanism and ability to consolidate and integrate with existing processes. As well as assisting with the solution's integration, Logicalis will provide training and consultancy throughout the deployment.

Bleazard says,

"Logicalis is a good fit for DEK; the team at Logicalis has a deep understanding of the collaborative nature of Business Analytics, and is at ease with both IT and finance departments. As a trusted IBM Business Partner, we have assurances in their technical credentials and ability to deliver as promised."

Paul Crowe, Sales Director, Software, at Logicalis UK Ltd comments;

"We are pleased to have this opportunity to partner with DEK in realising their business aspirations in the areas of forecasting and financial reporting. Their decision to build upon the strength and flexibility of the IBM Business Analytics portfolio will not only provide for their immediate requirements but is also a solid step into a future that recognises the importance of fact based decision making and predictive management capability. I am sure that we will build a strong relationship during the implementation process."

In 2011, Logicalis UK acquired Inca Software, one of IBM's largest Business Analytics solutions partners. The contract win with DEK International follows Logicalis UK being named winner of an IBM Choice Award for Top Business Partner, Northeast Europe in March 2012.
